General English Courses

(weekly programme outline)

It is our aim at CELC to meet your needs as much as we possibly can and we have designed our courses to help you develop your skills as much as possible and as quickly as possible. We focus on communication and our courses will help you improve your speaking, listening, reading and writing skills. There are also grammar lessons to develop your accuracy plus a focus on improving vocabulary and pronunciation. We have many years experience of providing tuition in English as a Foreign Language and we sincerely hope you will find a stay with us to be both rewarding and enjoyable.

We will give you a short test on your first morning to help us decide which is the best class for you. Throughout the year, we have General English classes at elementary, pre-intermediate, intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced levels. However, if you are a beginner, you can start your course only on certain dates. Please see beginners for more information.

General language courses cost from £175 per week including shared accommodation or from £95 without accommodation (these prices are for longer stays). Please see prices for further details of costs.

The price covers a full programme which includes 15 hours classroom contact time in the mornings with additional opportunities for Bible study, cultural studies (a chance to discover more about such topics as the British sense of humour!) and sports in the afternoons.

The school programme has been designed to meet the needs of all students, both in terms of language learning and in personal development. A typical school week is as follows:

*The trips are always accompanied by a teacher who will be able to give you background information on the places as well as show you the best coffee shops for a Cream Tea! Places visited include: Salisbury and Stonehenge, Milton Abbas, Corfe Castle, Swanage, The New Forest, Southampton, Brownsea Island and others. Please note a small fee is payable for all trips.

We also arrange full day trips on some Saturdays to such places as London, Bath, Oxford and the Isle of Wight.
